The Church Is Here
Trinidad and Tobago
On June 5, 1980, the first branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Trinidad and Tobago was organized in the capital city, Port of Spain. Over the last 40 years, the Church there has grown to include:
-
3,400 members (approximately)
-
1 stake, 10 wards and branches
-
1 FamilySearch center
There is not yet a temple in Trinidad and Tobago, so the Saints faithfully travel to other countries, such as the Dominican Republic, for temple worship. Rouann Johnson, a member in the Arima Branch, shares a blessing of attending the temple: “The peace I feel while I am in the temple can’t be found in any other place on earth.”
