Ishmael’s daughters traveled with their family in the wilderness. The journey was hard. After some time, they married the sons of Lehi and Sariah.

1 Nephi 16:7; 17:1

One day, Ishmael died. His daughters were very sad. They missed their father. The daughters worried that they and their families would also die in the wilderness. They were upset with Lehi and Nephi, and they wanted to go back home to Jerusalem.

1 Nephi 16:34–36

The voice of the Lord spoke to Ishmael’s daughters and their families. They repented, and the Lord blessed them.

The women had babies in the wilderness. Sariah also had two more sons, Jacob and Joseph.

The Lord helped the women on their journey. He blessed them with plenty of milk for their babies. He helped the women become stronger as they traveled.

The Lord said that He was leading the daughters and their families to a promised land. The Lord promised the families that they would have all that they needed as they traveled. He made the food they hunted good to eat, and He guided them.

After eight years in the wilderness, the families reached the sea. The women rejoiced with their families. The land by the sea was beautiful. They called it Bountiful because it was full of fruit and honey to eat. The Lord had prepared all of it for them.
