“Another Testament of Jesus Christ”
Introduction and Impressions
The prophet Moroni declared that the Book of Mormon was written to convince “Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ” (title page of the Book of Mormon). In making this declaration, Moroni testified that this book and its powerful witness of the Savior is for everyone in the world. This witness is powerful enough to change the world and powerful enough to change me. As another testament of Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon can help me learn of Him and “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ” (2 Nephi 31:20).

It is very important that you seek impressions from the Spirit to help you and your family. Therefore, before reading the rest of this study outline, read the introductory material of the Book of Mormon (the pages that precede 1 Nephi). What messages do you find for your life? What will be of most value to you and your family? What can you share in your Church classes? Record your thoughts and impressions below or in a journal or notebook.

One of the purposes of the Book of Mormon is to convince all people that Jesus is the Christ. What additional truths about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon do I find on the title page? What will I do this year to focus on the Savior more as I study the Book of Mormon?

Introduction. The Book of Mormon helps me “get nearer to God.”
Speaking about the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith said that people can “get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2007], 64). How has this promise been fulfilled in my life? What else do I learn from the introduction that inspires me to study the Book of Mormon? Who can I invite to receive the blessings of the Book of Mormon?

“The Testimony of Three Witnesses,” “The Testimony of Eight Witnesses,” and “The Testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith.” I can be a witness of the Book of Mormon.
A person does not have to see the golden plates to know that the Book of Mormon is true (see Moroni 10:3–5). How can I receive a testimony or strengthen my testimony of the Book of Mormon? As I read the testimonies of these witnesses, what strengthens my desire to share my witness with others?

Introduction. The Book of Mormon is “the keystone of our religion.”
The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that the Book of Mormon is “the keystone of our religion.” A keystone is a special stone placed at the top of an arch to hold the arch together. We could build or draw an arch with a keystone and then talk about how the Book of Mormon is like a keystone. What goals can we set as a family to make the Book of Mormon the keystone of our belief in Christ and His Church?
