birth of Jesus

Jesus was born 2,000 years ago to a virgin mother named Mary in the city of Bethlehem.

He developed as other children do, growing physically and mentally. He learned the carpenter’s trade and observed the natural world. He had a special bond with His Father in Heaven and even taught the educated men at the temple in Jerusalem about God when He was only twelve years old.

Jesus in synagogue at Nazareth

When Jesus grew into a man, He began to teach the people in Jerusalem about God, as other prophets had taught their people before Him, but the things He taught were new.

Sermon on the Mount

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” —Matthew 5:14–16

Christ and Samaritan woman

“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” —John 4:13–14

healing the sick at Bethesda

“When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” —Mosiah 2:17

burial of Christ

The local government felt threatened by His claims and His public figure, and though He was innocent, Jesus was put to death for blasphemy.

The Ascension

He died on a cross, but He rose from His tomb three days later. He is a living man who would never die again.

Second Coming

This is the Jesus Christ we love and worship. We believe that He is the Son of God, and that by faith in Him, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and continuing devotion, we can become our best selves and return to live with God.
