My Calling as a Counselor in the Stake Sunday School Presidency

Responsibilities

The Lord is grateful for your willingness to serve in His Church. Below is an overview of the responsibilities for your calling.

Purpose of Sunday School

The Sunday School helps accomplish God’s work of salvation and exaltation by helping God’s children learn and live the gospel of Jesus Christ (see General Handbook, 13.1).

Stake Sunday School Counselor

The stake Sunday School presidency’s responsibilities include working to build faith and strengthen individuals and families in the stake, orienting newly called ward Sunday School presidencies, and offering ongoing support and instruction (see 6.7.1). Counselors also support the stake Sunday School president with additional assignments.

Meetings and Councils

The stake Sunday School presidency counsels together regularly. They plan and conduct stake leadership meetings to teach ward Sunday School leaders their duties, help them improve as leaders and teachers, and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ (see 29.3.4).
