Getting Started
“The work of gathering Heavenly Father’s family is not just for young people, and it is not just for grandparents. It is for everyone. We are all gatherers.”
(Henry B. Eyring, “Gathering the Family of God,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2017, 22)
What Is Family History?
Family history is discovering our family members, gathering information about them and their story, and preserving that information. It is also performing saving ordinances for them in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. FamilySearch.org and the FamilySearch Tree and FamilySearch Memories apps are the Church’s primary resources to accomplish family history work.
Promised Blessings
Those that engage in temple and family history work are promised powerful blessings declared by prophets and apostles.
