Working with Others

Civic, Faith, and Community Groups

As Church leaders align their efforts with other groups, the Lord can augment those efforts and bless more of His children. All interactions with these groups should be respectful and honest. Church leaders are encouraged to set up conversations with civic, faith, and community groups to discuss opportunities to work together. Leaders should first review the proposed collaboration, including any financial commitments, with area leaders before entering into a working relationship.

Government and Prison or Jail Leaders

The development of good relations with government and prison leadership will increase the ability of the Church to minister and bless those we desire to support. Church leaders may reach out to establish these relationships. Leaders and members should always respect prison personnel, policies, and practices. This will demonstrate that they can be trusted.

Chaplains

A prison chaplain is a person hired by the correctional facility to support people of all faiths. Nurturing a good relationship with chaplains can help you serve incarcerated individuals.
