What if someone had been afraid of offending them?

It’s sometimes frightening to talk to our nonmember friends about the Church. We’re afraid of offending them. That’s natural. But after all, aren’t we offering them the most precious thing we have? What’s so offensive about that? What if someone had been afraid of offending Brigham Young or John Taylor or Heber C. Kimball or any one of thousands of other stalwart converts to the Church? And on the other hand, how many people are we offending eternally by being afraid to tell them about the gospel?
