“The Night Sky,” New Era, June 1984, 51
The Night Sky
The jeweler
Holds out the black velvet cloth,
And thousands of diamonds
Of every size,
Glitter and gleam and hold my eyes.
Then I see
The jeweler’s careful clockwork,
As the celestial bodies circle
Their appointed paths
With unfailing precision and unending beauty.
There are some
Who say there is no God,
But I know there is
a Heavenly Jeweler
For I have seen His gems.
