Seeing Things

It’s funny how expectations change

When you’ve seen the other side of things.

There’s so much beyond

What I can see,

And I know as I grow

I will learn to see things

That once were empty spaces.

And I will move on

From where I am now

To a higher place.

And then I’ll look down,

back to where I used to be,

And I will see

How far I’ve come.

Then I’ll turn around

And face the front

And head into my new life.
