A favorite
I really learn a lot from the New Era. “No Lie” (July 1998) was a favorite of mine. I realized from this article how important it is to always make the honest choice and show a good example. This story gave me the extra boost I needed to tell the truth.

The Message’s message
Thank you for publishing the New Era. Every story has a special message in it that helps me always feel the Spirit. One day I decided to read the Message. I used to only read the short articles, the Mormonad, and the Mormonisms. When I read the Message, I could feel the Spirit. I now read every article in every magazine. I even told one of my nonmember friends about the magazine, and the next day she told me she had read a lot of it. Thank you for this inspirational magazine.

Not too late
As a missionary I have the awesome task of sharing the gospel. Sometimes that includes sharing with Church members. We have been working with a man who felt he missed his opportunity to go on a mission because he’s 22. After reading “The Finals Decision” (Mar. 1999), I felt I knew how to help him. Because of the inspirational article in the New Era, this 22-year-old man is preparing for his mission.

Wants to follow
I would like to thank you for publishing the article “The Finals Decision” in the March 1999 issue. I have always been leaning toward going on a mission, but there always have been some questions about college. After I read this article, I felt good that there are people out there who can make the right choice. I would like to follow in their footsteps. I would also like to thank your staff for all the great stories the magazine publishes. I have and always will continue to read the New Era. Thank you so much,

So happy
I am so happy that my parents finally renewed my subscription to the Church magazines. I love the New Era because for a while I had to take an early school class that interfered with seminary. It wasn’t always easy to choose the right without that certain spirit seminary leaves on my day. So I kept a few issues of the New Era with me, and they helped me make it through. Thanks so much.

Realized
Thanks for the article “My Kind of Hero” (Mar. 1999). I was drinking, using drugs, and committing other very serious sins. Seeing that Jennifer had time to help others made me think about my life. It is about time for me to go on a mission. Now I want to go and help others. I want to bring others into our church. I realize that what I have done is wrong, and I am not doing everything I can to get back on the straight and narrow path.

Still scattering
Thanks for the Mormonad “Scatter Sunshine” (Jan. 1999). It inspired me to take the text of that song and give it to someone I know. I did this because she always seems to be in a bad mood. So thanks again for inspiring me to help someone have a happier day.
