“Snow Fame,” New Era, Dec. 2001, 51
Snow Fame
Snowflakes are floating.
Wind bullies them, pushes them around.
Still they seek the ground.
Dancing, swarming, down to earth.
Like children leaving school on its last day.
Excitement is in them.
Snowflakes find the ground,
Each positioning itself carefully,
Hoping the storm will end,
So no other snowflakes will cover them.
Then sunshine will exhibit each snowflake’s beauty,
Show them to be the most sparkling and pure.
Snowflakes are always surprised when the sun,
Which makes them glitter,
Melts them.
