Mutual Activity Ideas

• Youth in Wilmington, Delaware, based their youth conference on historical events in their area (see page 12). If there are any historical sites close to home, arrange for a tour. Under the guidance of your bishop or youth leaders, you may want to ask an institute or seminary teacher to be your guide.

• When it’s time to sign up for a new year of seminary, hold a seminary “pep rally” to get everyone excited about attending. You may want to have a short scripture chase or learn some scripture mastery scriptures together. Don’t forget to provide enrollment information, class times and locations, and driving directions. (See “Soaking up Seminary,” page 38.)

Service Project Idea

• Have a hymnbook fix-up night under the direction of the ward music leader. Gather all the hymnbooks and use soft erasers to remove smudges or marks. Use book-mending tape to fix broken spines and torn pages. Ask someone to be prepared to give the history of a favorite hymn and sing it together.

Family Home Evening Idea

• In “Recognizing Answers to Prayer” on page 4, Elder Richard G. Scott outlines three ways in which prayers are answered. Have family members identify an answer to prayer that they have received.
