Serving the Savior
I have always enjoyed giving service. One of my favorite hymns is “A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief” (Hymns, no. 29) because it emphasizes the teaching found in the Book of Mormon: “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God” (Mosiah 2:17). I love how this hymn tells of one man’s life of service to others, how he gives without a thought for himself, and then in the end discovers that he has been serving the Savior the entire time.
