My favorite activity is making and weaving chainmail. I’ve done so many projects, but my best project has been adding chainmail sleeves to my Renaissance Fair deerskin tunic (also handmade!). Weaving chainmail makes me so happy and the action of it is very relaxing. The cool thing about chainmail is that it never ends! You can also add more and more to it.
I like thinking of weaving chainmail in a gospel sense. When we do one thing, like reading one scripture verse or saying one prayer, it doesn’t feel like much (just like when I add one jump ring to my chainmail weave). But when I continue to build up my weave with more, then the weave is strong and unbreakable, just like our testimonies if we continue to do the “little” things like pray. I love making chainmail and I love its gospel application as well.
