As a technology specialist, you may be required to host an interactive meeting for your ward or stake. The Church provides a Zoom account for every unit in the Church, but if Zoom doesn’t meet your unit’s needs, Google Meet is an alternative option. Google Meet is free videoconferencing software that hosts virtual meetings to an online audience.
Google Meet (free version) creates an online meeting for up to 100 participants for 60 minutes. Google Meet with a Google Workspace (formerly Gsuite) account adds additional features. Meetings have no time limit and include dial-in options. You can enroll for a Church Google Workspace account through the Google Meet portal to access these additional features.
Google Meet is accessed through a web browser or the mobile phone app. The camera and microphone on your desktop/laptop or phone should suffice for your meetings. Look in highlighted online resources for more information.
The following links contain articles provided by Google that give direction and guidance to host meetings on Google Meet.
YouTube provides great training and how-to-use articles and videos. To access more resources available from YouTube (Google), visit support.google.com.
