DIY 3D Family Tree

When you hear the phrase “family history,” you may think about computer work and black-and-white photos. But it can encompass much more than that. For example, you can celebrate your family with this pebble-bird family tree!

You’ll need:

  • Rocks or pebbles
  • Sticks
  • A sheet of thick paper or cardboard
  • Glue
  • A dark marker
  • A frame (optional)

Step 1: Clean any dirt off your sticks and pebbles.

Step 2: Lay the sticks and pebbles on the paper so each pebble represents a family member. Get creative!

Step 3: Glue the sticks to the paper.

Step 4: Use the marker to draw legs and a beak next to each pebble to make it look like a bird.

Step 5: Glue the pebbles down, and write the name of a family member under each bird. Maybe you could also add their birthday, or some other fun fact.

Step 6: After hanging your 3D family tree, take a picture and add it to FamilySearch Memories.
