Alma the younger asks the people to have enough faith to plant the seed (word of God) in their hearts. And if the word of God is good, like a good seed, it will grow and make them happy.

Imagine you could hear Alma give a talk!

Here’s what Alma 32–33 might’ve been like.

You might have heard these scriptures quoted in lessons and talks before—they’re pretty well-known. Alma compares the word of God to a seed.

He invites us to “experiment” and see what happens when we nourish our testimony little by little.

At the time, he was speaking to the humble people of Antionum. He used things that would be familiar to them—seeds, plants, and trees—to explain how they could grow their faith.

The same process is true for us today!

To Think About

Which “seeds” of the gospel are growing strong in your life? Which ones need more nourishment?
