Would you ever get in a car and start driving blindly into the dark without any clue of where you’re heading or what’s in front of you? No. Obviously. That would be bonkers.
But that’s essentially what we do when we make a decision without giving any consideration to where that decision will lead. Some people call this “living in the moment.” Prophets and apostles would call it dangerously unwise.
As President Dallin H. Oaks has taught, “We make better choices and decisions if we look at the alternatives and ponder where they will lead.”
