Let’s stand up for Jesus Christ!

The latest message from your leaders.

This might surprise you …

As a girl growing up in Argentina, I attended Catholic school.

I loved what I learned there, but when missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints taught my family about the restored gospel, I felt the Spirit so strong.

I decided to give myself to Him by taking a new path and being baptized.

My family and I didn’t tell the school that we had converted to the Church because we were afraid of what they might do.

Eventually, they did find out.

I remember talking to a nun after school one day and sharing my testimony with her.

I felt a burning in my heart. Although my sister and I were asked to leave the school, I learned a very important lesson—to stand up for the gospel of Jesus Christ and to not be ashamed of it.

Giving my life over to the Savior is the best decision I have ever made. It’s a choice that I committed to not just as a girl but many times since.

I am reminded of this when I listen to the beautiful youth theme song for 2024. You might know it. The song is called “Disciple of Christ.”

This is my favorite part:

“Out of all the paths that I could take,
Giving Him my life was the only way.”

Giving my life to Christ doesn’t mean the path is always easy or that I never have challenges or make mistakes—it just means that the Lord is always there to help me.

Do you have a favorite part of the theme song? Why is it meaningful to you? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
