And what came later was incredible.
Guys, this is an amazing story of forgiveness.
A man who lost his wife and kids in a car accident met the teenager who was driving drunk and caused the crash.
The meeting didn’t end with yelling and chair-throwing and other dramatic things you see on reality TV. It was a meeting of authentic grief and heartfelt sorrow... and forgiveness.
This what it means to put off “the natural man” (Mosiah 3:19), which is the part of us that might want revenge.
This is what it means to leave judgment and vengeance to the Lord (see Mormon 8:20).
This is what it means to be filled with a peace that “passeth all understanding” (Phil. 4:7).
This is what the Atonement of Jesus Christ offers us! A life of peace, no matter what happens.
