Elder Ahmad S. Corbitt, who used to be the First Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency, is now serving as a General Authority Seventy! Which means someone new needed to be called to help lead the Young Men organization.
Enter Brother Michael T. Nelson, who now serves as second counselor. He will serve alongside Brother Bradley R. Wilcox (now first counselor), and President Steven J. Lund (continuing as president).
Check out these fun facts about our Young Men General Presidency.
President Steven J. Lund: President Lund grew up in California, USA. He fell in love with Europe during his mission in the Netherlands and later while stationed in Germany with the U.S. military. President Lund received degrees in both communications and law from Brigham Young University, which is where he became engaged to his wife, Kalleen. They raised four children while he worked as a lawyer and eventually became the executive chairman of the board of directors of a Utah-based cosmetics company. The Lunds were mission leaders in the the Georgia Atlanta Mission from 2003–2006.
Brother Bradley R. Wilcox: Brother Wilcox was born right on Christmas day! His earliest memories are of growing up in Ethiopia where his dad was working to improve education. Brother Wilcox also has devoted his life to teaching. He currently teaches religion classes at BYU. As a young man, Brother Wilcox served served as a missionary in Chile. He and his wife, Debi, returned to that country to be mission leaders in the Santiago East Mission from 2003–2006.
Brother Michael T. Nelson: Brother Nelson is a businessman, and (here’s a shout-out to all of the farm kids out there!) he and his family continue to operate a small farm on their property, which keeps him active and working outside. As a young man, he served as a missionary in Chile. After returning home, he went to college and got degrees in organizational communications. He and his wife, Barbara, were mission leaders in the California San Bernadino Mission from 1998–2001. They have nine children.
