Ward Disability Specialist
Overview of Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the FSY conferences website, particularly the FAQ and FSY Conference Accessibility page, and refer parents and youth to the website to answer any FSY questions.
- For questions not answered on the website, reach out to your ward FSY representative or email FSYAccommodations@ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
- Identify youth in your ward with dietary, disability, medical, or other needs that may require accommodations.
Details of Responsibilities
Youth Registration
- Ensure youth in your ward with dietary, disability, medical, or other needs that may require accommodations know how to request those accommodations.
- Walk youth (and parents) who may need support due to a disability through the registration process.
- Ensure the ward FSY representative and stake disability specialist are aware of youth with dietary, disability, medical, or other needs in your ward, so they can inform the stake leaders who are planning stake FSY activities.
Who Do I Work With?
Local leaders are key to the success of FSY. Their role is essential before, during, and after the conference.
- Ask them about any questions you may have regarding logistics, registration, and policies not answered on the website.
- Inform them of youth with dietary, disability, medical, or other needs in your ward, and tell them which individuals you plan to support during the registration process.
- Inform them of youth with dietary, disability, medical, or other needs in your ward.
- If no stake disability specialist is called, you will work directly with these leaders as though they are the stake disability specialists.
