Then her world got turned upside-down!

Can you think of a general conference talk about someone who went through a really hard challenge? Who had to choose between turning to God or turning bitter?

Here’s a video about a young woman who had a choice like that to make.

Paralyzed from the neck down, Emily testifies of how turning to God has helped her. It’s a story of fear, doubt, anger... and eventually love.

“I’ve chosen to turn my life over to God and help other people and speak to other people,” she says.

Make sure to read her story in the October For the Strength of Youth magazine!

Make It Personal

Has God ever helped you get through a hard time? What’s something you notice about Emily’s experience that could help you?

Video translation:

“Hi, my name is Emily Traveller, and last April I was involved in a rollover ATV accident which left me paralyzed from the neck down—also known as quadriplegic.

“I’ve had to turn to God because at the beginning of it all, no one else in my accident got hurt, and I was always wondering why God did this to me. And I became a little bit angry.

“But then I turned to God, and my mom told me that He never did this to me, that He was with me. And that’s how I have lived my life ever since. And I’ve chose to turn my life over to God and help other people and speak to other people.”
