Samuel prophesied that we might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, that ye might know of the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might

believe on his name.

It is not reasonable that such a being as a Christ shall come. This is a wicked tradition, which has been handed down unto us by our fathers.

The time is past, and the words of Samuel are not fulfilled.

We have set apart a day when all who believe in those traditions will be put

to death,

except the sign should come to pass.

Go to your homes and watch steadfastly for that day and that night and that

day which should be as one day.

Please. Leave here. Leave them. I will not.

Your faith will destroy you and yet you still believe?

I do.

We will continue to watch, that we might know that our faith has not been vain.

How can you believe the words of a Lamanite?

[MUSIC PLAYING]

You never miss!

Samuel! I thought you left the city! Stop!

Did we not cast you out?

Next time, we will not be so kind.

Lord, please help me.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Judge.

Samuel was in the city.

I had to do something with him.

Behold! I, Samuel, a Lamanite, do speak the words of the Lord which he doth put into my heart.

And four hundred years pass not away save the sword of justice falleth upon this people.

Nothing can save this people save it be repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, who surely shall come into the world, and shall suffer many things

and shall be slain for his people.

- It is that Lamanite again. - An angel of the Lord hath - Perhaps this time we should listen. - declared it unto me,

and he did bring glad tidings to my soul.

And I was sent unto you that ye might have glad tidings; but ye would not receive me.

Thus saith the Lord: Because of the hardness of the hearts of the people of the Nephites, except they repent I will take away my word from them, and I will withdraw my Spirit from them.

But if ye will repent and return unto the Lord your God I will turn away mine

anger, saith the Lord; blessed are they who will repent and turn unto me, but wo unto him that repenteth not.

Hearken unto my words.

Ye do not remember the Lord your God in the things with which he hath blessed you.

Your hearts are not drawn out unto the Lord, but they do swell with great

pride and all manner of iniquities.

Yea, wo unto this people, because ye do cast out the prophets, and do mock

them, and cast stones at them, and do slay them.

We should slay you!

[CROWD LAUGHING]

But if a man shall come among you and shall say: Do this, and there is no iniquity, do that and ye shall not suffer, walk after the pride of your own hearts, walk after the pride of your eyes, and do whatsoever your heart

desireth — ye will receive him, and say that he is a prophet. Yea, ye will lift him up, and ye will give unto him of your gold and will not

find fault with him.

[CROWD MURMURING]

O ye wicked and ye perverse generation; ye hardened and ye stiffnecked people, how long do ye suppose that the Lord will suffer you?

Yea, how long will ye suffer yourselves to be led by foolish and blind guides?

Yea, how long will ye choose darkness rather than light?

The anger of the Lord is already kindled against you.

O ye people of the land, hear my words!

I pray that the anger of the Lord be turned away from you, and that ye would

repent and be saved.

A Lamanite, come to teach us repentance?

He is no prophet!

His words are lies!

[CROWD MURMURING]

Behold, I give unto you a sign.

For five years more cometh, then cometh the Son of God to redeem all those who

shall believe on his name.

And this will I give unto you for a sign at the time of his

coming; there shall be great lights in heaven, insomuch that in the night

before he cometh there shall be no darkness.

There shall be one day and a night and a day, as if it were one day and there were no night.

And behold, there shall a new star arise,

such an one as ye never have beheld.

This is not all, there shall be many signs and wonders in heaven.

And it shall come to pass that ye shall all be amazed, and wonder, insomuch

that ye shall fall to the earth.

Whosoever shall believe on the Son of God, the same shall have everlasting life.

Thus hath the Lord commanded me, by his angel, that I should come

and prophesy these things unto you.

And now, because I am a Lamanite, and have spoken unto you the words which the Lord hath commanded me, ye are angry with me and do seek to destroy me, and have cast me out from among you.

Ye shall hear my words, that ye might know of the judgments of God, and that

ye might know the conditions of repentance.

That ye might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God,

the Father of heaven and of earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and that ye might know of the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might believe on his name.

And if ye believe on his name ye will repent of all your sins, that thereby

ye may have a remission of them through his merits.

And now he will teach us to repent.

Do not believe him! And another sign I give unto you, yea, a sign of his death.

For behold, he surely must die that salvation may come; yea, to bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, that thereby men may be brought

into the presence of the Lord.

The resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord.

As I said unto you concerning another sign, a sign of his death, in that day

that he shall suffer death the sun shall be darkened, and also the moon and the stars; and there shall be no light upon the face of this land, even from the time that he shall suffer death, for the space of three days, to the time that he shall rise again from the dead. Do you believe his words? At that time, there shall be thunderings - and lightnings for - Yes. the space of many hours, and the earth shall shake and tremble.

And there shall be great tempests,

- and many mountains - You must - laid low, like unto a valley, - put an end to this. and many valleys

- shall become mountains. - Captain!

Yea, many highways shall be broken up, and cities shall become desolate. - He is a liar. - He is not a prophet.

And many graves shall be opened, and shall yield up many of their dead; and many saints shall appear unto many.

Stone him! Guards! And the angel said unto me that many shall see greater things than

these, to the intent that there should be no cause for unbelief among

the children of men.

And now remember that whosoever perisheth, perisheth unto himself; and whosoever doeth iniquity, doeth it unto himself.

For ye are free; ye are permitted to act for yourselves; for God hath given unto you a knowledge and he hath made you free.

He hath given unto you that ye might know good from evil, and he hath given unto you that ye might choose life or death.

Wo unto this people who are called the people of Nephi except they shall

repent, for they have been a chosen people of the Lord.

We will not be taught by a Lamanite.

Yea, the people of Nephi hath he loved, and also hath he chastened

them; yea, in the days of their iniquities hath he chastened them because he loveth them. Archers!

But behold my brethren, the Lamanites—salvation hath come unto

them through the preaching of the Nephites; And I would that ye should behold that the more part of them keep his commandments and his

statutes and his judgments according to the law of Moses.

- Stone him! - The more part of them are striving - Draw! - with unwearied diligence that they may bring the remainder of their brethren to the knowledge of the truth.

Release! The prophecies of the holy prophets leadeth them to faith on the Lord, and unto repentance, which faith and repentance - You never miss. Again. - bringeth a change of heart unto them.

Finish him!

Release!

To the right, to the right, to the right!

Shoot again. Do not miss.

Our arrows and stones cannot hit him.

And now, because of their steadfastness they shall again be brought to the true knowledge of their Redeemer, their great and true shepherd, and be numbered among his sheep.

Therefore I say unto you,

it shall be better for them than for you except ye repent.

Except ye repent.

He hath a devil!

It is because of the power of the devil which is in him that we cannot hit him!

Wait! Stop! Put down your weapons!

Away with him! Save your stones and arrows!

Let’s take this fellow and bind him!

And as surely as the Lord liveth shall these things be, saith the Lord.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Why did you not go with the others?

We could not hit him with our stones, neither with our arrows.

The Spirit of the Lord was with him.

Samuel prophesied, that we might know the coming - of Jesus Christ. - Nephi, the time is past, and the words of Samuel concerning Jesus Christ are not fulfilled.

Your joy and your faith concerning this thing hath been vain.

Except the sign shall come to pass, which has been given by Samuel the prophet, all those who believe will be put to death!

Why do you not believe in the words of Samuel?

There have been many great signs given unto us. The prophecies have begun to be fulfilled!

Some things you may have guessed right, but we know that all these great

and marvelous things cannot come to pass.

Lord, my heart is exceedingly sorrowful.

Yea, Lord, I pray on behalf of those who are about to be destroyed

because of their faith.

Lift up your head and be of good cheer;

for behold, the time is at hand,

and on this night shall the sign be given.

And on the morrow come I into the wold,

to show unto the world that I will fulfill all that which I have

caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.

I come unto my own, to fulfill all things which I have made known unto the children of men from the foundation of the world.

We are not afraid.

[CROWD LAUGHING]

A day without night.

Now do you believe?

Yea, all things—

every whit.

The Lord has been born.
