“The Message Is Family Home Evening,” Ensign, Jan. 1974, 141 The Message Is Family Home Evening Church missions in South America are successfully contacting potential members of the Church through a program called “A mi me importa,” or “I care.” Purpose of the program is to introduce the family home evening concept as a means of strengthening families and making contacts for missionaries. Recently in Medellín, a city of 1,200,000 people in the Colombia Mission, some 10,000 people had personal contact with the program through an exposition held in a major shopping center. Not only did the exposition produce more than 400 referrals, but it also received national publicity when a local radio station conducted an half-hour interview with two missionaries who explained the history and doctrine of the Church. Seen here are missionaries inviting passers-by into the exposition, and visitors being told of the family home evening program.
