BYU Library Named in Honor of President Lee
The J. Reuben Clark, Jr., Library at Brigham Young University has been renamed the Harold B. Lee Library in honor of the late president of the Church. President Clark’s name will still be carried on BYU’s new J. Reuben Clark Law School.
President Clark served as counselor to three Church presidents and was U.S. Ambassador to Mexico.
The Harold B. Lee Library, completed in 1961, was designed to house one million volumes, a capacity long since exceeded. Plans are now underway for construction of an addition that will be larger than the original structure.
