Prayer for an Afflicted Child

And now that I have fully

Informed you of his needs—

Have written out the remedy,

As doctor to pharmacist—

I have remembered.

I am an apprentice

Instructing the master.

Forgive me.

I will take the prescription

That you sign.

He was your child,

I have remembered,

Before he was mine.
