This painting depicts a home in Parowan, a town of about 1,500 persons in southwestern Utah founded by Latter-day Saint pioneers in 1851.

Inside back cover: St. Charles, Idaho, by Al Rounds, 24″ by 30″, watercolor, 1981.

The old home in this painting is located near St. Charles, in southeastern Idaho. Named after Elder Charles C. Rich, of the Council of the Twelve, who was in charge of its colonization, St. Charles was founded in 1864 and is now a farming community of about 300 people.
