After you’ve studied the scripture passages for this week and reviewed the questions and activities in the manual, consider sharing any of the following articles and activities with your family. These additional resources can assist you as you strive to teach the gospel in your home.

Moroni 1

Facing Opposition

Moroni was one of the last faithful Nephites at the end of the Book of Mormon. Although the Lamanites sought to kill every Nephite who would not deny the Savior, Moroni would not deny his testimony. How can we stay faithful in the face of great opposition?

Articles

  • My Hidden Blessing.” In this New Era article, learn how a young man finds strength from his patriarchal blessing when his family turns against the Church.

  • Moroni Saved the Scriptures for Us.” In this month’s scripture story in the Friend, read how Moroni was brave and true despite the hard things he faced. Includes a coloring page.

Activities

  • Family Fun Time: Tender Mercies.” This activity from the Friend can help family members recognize the blessings Heavenly Father sends us when life is hard.

  • A Gift of Friendship.” Read this Christmas story from World War II about the power of friendship and Christlike love. (From the Friend.)

  • I Can Give a Little Too.” When Trent learns about the service project the adults in his ward are doing for Christmas, he wants to help too. (From the Friend.)

Activities

  • Service Snowflake.” Use this page from the Friend to cut out a special snowflake. Then write down on the snowflake the names of people you want to help.

  • What’s on Your Mind?” Use this page from the Friend to help your family learn how to focus on the Savior this Christmas through service. Includes a bingo service challenge for the month of December.
