“Plans,” Friend, June 1973, inside front cover
Plans
Now that school is over
And summertime’s begun,
I’m simply brimming over
With plans for summer fun.
I’m going to play and swim a lot
And work with crafts a bit
And help with caring for the yard
And also baby-sit.
I’ll take my brothers fishing,
And then we’ll all go to the zoo.
And when my family goes on trips,
Of course I will go too!
I just know that summertime
Won’t be long enough for me,
Because there’s lots I want to do
And learn about and see.
