“Christmas Night,” Friend, Dec. 1978, insert
Christmas Night
Come out, come out, rabbits,
And dance across the snow—
The Christmas stars are shining
And the forest’s all aglow.
Come out, come out, foxlings!
Fir trees are silvery bright;
God’s creatures are rejoicing,
For this is Christmas night.
Come out, come out, winter birds,
Come every one that sings—
Come show your silver-crested heads
And fly with starbright wings.
Come out, come out, all creatures!
Come, capering with delight,
To a radiant, bright new world,
For this is Christmas night.
