“February Wind,” Friend, Feb. 1980, inside back cover
February Wind
Blow and bluster, do your worst!
Rattle windows till they burst.
Frost the air and make me shiver,
Freeze the current in the river.
Naught can chill my heart to stay;
There’s a hint of spring today.
Saw a crocus peeping through,
And a violet bud’s first blue.
Then I heard a robin call,
Pecking seeds from garden wall.
I don’t mind your blustering,
Now I know there will be spring.
