Valentine
If you were a cow,
I’d send you hay
For a valentine
On Valentine’s Day.
If you were a puppy,
I’d send you a bone;
Or maybe a stick
If you were a crone.
If you were a bee,
I’d send you honey—
If you were a banker,
I’d send you money.
But you’re none of these,
So I’ll send to you
This valentine heart
And my true love too.
