The Sounds of Spring
Listen! You can hear it coming,
Floating on a southern breeze,
Blowing kisses to the crocus,
Showering sunshine on the trees.
Whispering willow leaves unfold and
Bluebells jingle in a sunny nook;
Melting snow, late winter’s tears,
Mingles with the laughing brook.
Pussy willows, soft, are purring;
Jonquils sound their golden horn.
Far away a dove is calling
Gentle greeting to the morn.
Listen! A new spring is born.
