Strolling Puppeteer

To become a strolling puppeteer, you will need: 12″ x 18″ (30 cm. x 45 cm.) piece of heavy cardboard, scissors, ruler, pencil, string, paint, paintbrush, crayons or felt-tip markers, glue, and Bible.

  1. To make stage, fold cardboard according to diagram, then punch small holes as shown.

  2. Cut out 4″ x 7″ (10 cm. x 18 cm.) opening in center section.

  3. Paint cardboard stage.

  4. Cut 40″ (1 m.) length of string and thread through holes as illustrated.

  5. Tie string ends together at neck so that stage floor is parallel to ground and so that string will fit comfortably over your head.

  6. Color finger puppets and cut out. Slightly overlap tabs and glue together.

  7. Study story of Daniel and the lions in Daniel 6. [Dan. 6] Now you are ready to present puppet play during family home evening or as a talk in Primary. Try making different finger puppets for other Bible or Book of Mormon characters.
