Travel Game Board
To make a game board for two games you can play while traveling in a car, you will need: 12″ x 12″ (30 cm x 30 cm) floor tile or cardboard, two 12″ x 12″ (30 cm x 30 cm) pieces of felt, scissors, glue, black felt-tip pen, ruler, and two colors of felt (different from color of 12″ (30 cm) felt squares) for game pieces.
Glue one felt square onto each side of tile or cardboard. On side for ticktacktoe, mark three rows of three 4″ (10 cm) squares with felt-tip pen to form squares.
For miniature checkerboard on other side, make six rows of six 2″ (5 cm) squares, blacking in alternate squares. (Checkers, six per player, are placed on opposite sides of board on nonblack squares and move only diagonally.)
Cut out six 1 1/2″ (4 cm) circles from each color of remaining felt. Draw an X on one side of circles for kings in checkers. Felt circles serve as markers for both games.
