“Homes,” Friend, Feb. 1988, 18–19
Homes
A frog lives way down in the well,
Where it’s all damp and dim.
A turtle lives inside his shell;
His house is part of him!
A bear cub naps all winter through
Inside a hollow log.
And there’s a doghouse bright and new
Just for a puppy dog.
A goldfish likes her shiny bowl,
Where she swims round and round.
A rabbit likes his cozy hole
So deep down in the ground.
The birdie likes its pretty nest
That’s high up in a tree.
And God gave me the house that’s best
For a little child like me.
