“When Jesus Was Born,” Friend, Dec. 1988, 40–41
When Jesus Was Born
-
The angel said, Fear not, Mary, thou shalt bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. (From Luke 1:30–31.)
-
Joseph went unto Bethlehem to be taxed with Mary his wife. (From Luke 2:4–5.)
-
While they were there, she brought forth her firstborn son, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. (From Luke 2:7–8.)
-
And there were in the same country shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night. And the angel said unto them: Unto you is born this day a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (From Luke 2:8, 10–11.)
-
And when the angels were gone, the shepherds came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. (From Luke 2:15–16.)
-
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God. (From Luke 2:17, 20.)
