The Sons of Mosiah Become Missionaries

Sons of Mosiah

Ammon, Aaron, Omner, and Himni were the four sons of Mosiah. They were with Alma the Younger when an angel appeared to them. Mosiah 27:8, 10–11, 34

They wanted to teach the truth

The sons of Mosiah repented of their sins and were sorry for the trouble they had caused. They knew that the gospel was true, and they wanted to teach it to others. Mosiah 27:35–36

They didn’t want to be the king

Mosiah’s sons each refused to be king. They wanted, instead, to be missionaries to the Lamanites and to share with them the blessings of the gospel. Mosiah 28:1–3, 10

God would protect sons of Mosiah on their mission to the Lamanites

King Mosiah prayed to know if he should let his sons go. God told Mosiah to let them go. He promised that He would protect them. He said that many Lamanites would believe them. Mosiah 28:5–7

They went to teach the Lamanites

Mosiah’s sons fasted and prayed that they would be good missionaries. Then they went to teach the gospel to the Lamanites. Alma 17:9, Mosiah 28:9
