A Fingerplay
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
Don’t wander in the darkness. (Put hands over eyes.)
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
Don’t lose your way in the mists. (Spread fingers of both hands and wave in front of face.)
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
Don’t listen to the jeers. (Place hands over ears.)
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
Don’t stop because of fears. (Cross arms over chest and shiver.)
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
Keep eternal goals in sight. (Place hand over brow and look around.)
Hold to the rod. (Clench both fists as if holding tightly to a rod.)
For the fruit is pure and white. (Pantomime picking and eating fruit.)
