“Spring Fever,” Friend, May 1994, 10
Spring Fever
It’s a willowy, billowy day.
Winter’s gray has all blown away.
White cotton-candy puffs dot the blue sky,
And I wish I were out there to feel them float by.
The earth is awakening, warmed by the sun,
And it’s calling to me, “Come out and have fun!”
This beautiful day wasn’t made for closed doors
But for spaces and places to search and explore.
This isn’t a day made for doing a thing
but running
and sunning
and breathing in spring.
