Jesus Christ Appears to the Nephites
Many Nephites gathered at the temple in Bountiful. They were amazed at the great changes in the land. 3 Ne. 11:1
They were talking to each other about Jesus Christ and the sign of his death. 3 Ne. 11:2
While they were talking, they heard a quiet voice from heaven. It made their hearts burn and caused them to quake. 3 Ne. 11:3
At first they could not understand it. The third time the voice spoke, they were able to understand it. 3 Ne. 11:4–6
Heavenly Father said, “Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased … hear ye him.” 3 Ne. 11:7
A Man wearing a white robe came down out of heaven and stood by them. They were afraid to speak because they thought it was an angel. 3 Ne. 11:8
The Man said, “Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.” 3 Ne. 11:9–10
Jesus told the people to come and feel the marks in his hands and feet where he had been nailed to the cross. 3 Ne. 11:12–13
Jesus wanted them to know that he was their God, that he had died for everyone’s sins and had been resurrected. 3 Ne. 11:14
One by one the people felt the nail marks in Jesus’ hands and feet. They testified that he was the Savior of whom the prophets had written. 3 Ne. 11:15
Then, crying “Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God!” they fell at Jesus’ feet and worshiped him. 3 Ne. 11:16–17
Jesus called Nephi and eleven other men to him. He gave them the power, and taught them the right way, to baptize. 3 Ne. 11:18–26; 3 Ne 12:1
He told the Nephites to believe in him, to repent, and to keep his commandments. If they did not do this, they could not enter his kingdom. 3 Ne. 12:19–20
Jesus taught the Nephites how to pray to Heavenly Father. He taught them about fasting. He said that they would be forgiven if they forgave one another. 3 Ne. 13:6–18
Jesus taught them many things, then told them to go to their homes and think and pray about what he had said. 3 Ne. 17:1–3
Tears came to the eyes of the Nephites. They wanted Jesus to stay with them. 3 Ne. 17:5
Jesus loved the Nephites. He told them to bring the people who were sick or hurt to him so that he could heal them. 3 Ne. 17:6–7
Jesus healed these people, and all the people bowed down and worshiped him. 3 Ne. 17:9–10
