Lose ko e Tokoua ʻeku Kui-uá

ʻOku fekauʻaki ʻa e talanoá mo ha kiʻi taʻahine ko ʻEva. ʻOku ʻi ai ha meʻa mahuʻinga ʻe ua ʻoku totonu ke mou ʻilo kau kia ʻEva. ʻUluakí naʻe taʻu 11 ʻi he talanoa ko ʻení. Pea ko e tahá naʻe ʻikai ʻaupito, teitei fie ʻalu ia ʻo nofo mo Lose ko e tokoua ʻene kuí Halaʻatā. ʻIkai haʻane fie ʻalu.

Ka naʻe teu fai e tafa e faʻē ʻa ʻEvá, pea fie maʻu ke fakaakeake fuoloa. Ko ia ne ʻave ai ʻe he mātuʻa ʻa ʻEvá ia ke nofo he faʻahitaʻu māfaná mo Lose ko e tokoua ʻene kui-uá.

Naʻe fakakaukau ʻa ʻEva kuo lauiafe e ngaahi ʻuhinga ne hoko ai ʻeni ko ha fakakaukau koví. ʻUluakí, ʻe mavahe ai heni mei heʻene faʻeé. ʻE toe mavahe ai heni mei hono fāmilí mo e kaungāmeʻá ʻIkai ngata ai, naʻe ʻikai teitei maheni ia mo Lose, ʻa e tokoua ʻene kui-uá. Naʻe fiemālie lelei pē ia he feituʻu naʻe lolotonga ʻi aí.

Ka ne ʻikai lava ʻe he fakafekikí pe fingo hono matá, ʻo liliu ʻa e tuʻutuʻuní ni. Ko ia, ne faʻo ʻe ʻEva ha katoleta pea fononga meʻalele lōloa mo ʻene tamaí ki he fale ʻo Losé.

Talu mei he momeniti ʻo e hū ʻa ʻEva ki he falé, mo ʻene fehiʻa ai.

Naʻe motuʻa e meʻa kotoa pē ai! Naʻe fonu e feituʻu kotoa pē he ʻū tohi motuʻá, ʻū ngeʻesi hina lanu faikehé, mo e ʻū kane pelesitiki ne fonuhake ʻi he kulá, līpiné, mo e fakamaʻú.

Naʻe nofo tokotaha pē ʻa e tokoua ʻene kui-ua ko Losé; naʻe teʻeki ai pē mali. Ko e tokotaha kehe pē aí ko ha pusi fulutui naʻe saiʻia ke ne kumi e potu māʻolunga taha ʻi he loki kotoa pē ʻo tokoto ai, ʻo sio hifo hangē ha taika fiekaiá ki he meʻa kotoa pē ʻi lalo.

Naʻa mo e falé, naʻe ʻasi tuēnoa pē ia. Naʻe tuʻu ki ʻuta, ʻi ha feituʻu naʻe vāmamaʻo ai ʻa e ʻū ʻapí. Naʻe hala ha taha ia ʻi he toʻu ʻo ʻEvá naʻe nofo ofi mai ʻi ha vaeua maile pē ā. Naʻe tupu ai foki e taʻelata ia ʻa ʻEvá.

Naʻe ʻikai ke tokanga fēfē ia he kamataʻangá ki he tokoua ʻene kui-uá kia Lose. Naʻe fakakaukau lahi taha pē ia ki heʻene faʻeé. Naʻe ʻā he taimi ʻe niʻihi ʻi he poʻulí, ʻo lotu ʻaki hono lotó kotoa ke sai ʻene faʻeé. Pea neongo naʻe ʻikai hoko vave, ka ne kamata ke ongoʻi ʻe ʻEva ʻoku tokangaʻi ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻene faʻeé.

ʻI he kamata ko ʻeni ke nonga e fakakaukau ʻa ʻEva ki heʻene faʻeé, ne kamata ke ne kiʻi fakatokangaʻi lahi ange ʻa Lose, ko e tokoua ʻene kui-uá. Ko ha fefine lahi—ko e meʻa kotoa pē fekauʻaki mo ia naʻe lahi: ʻa hono leʻó, ʻene malimalí, mo hono ʻulungāngá. Naʻe ʻikai faingofua ke ngaue holo, ka naʻe kata mo hiva maʻu pē he lolotonga ʻene ngāué, pea naʻe fakafonu e falé ʻe he ongo ʻo ʻene katá. Naʻe tangutu ʻi he pō kotoa pē ʻi hono fuʻu sea moluú, toʻo ʻene folofolá, pea lau leʻo lahi. Pea ʻi heʻene laú, naʻá ne faʻa pehē “ʻOi, naʻe ʻikai totonu ke ne fai ia!” pe “Ko e hā te u taʻe fai ai ke u maʻu ia!” pe “ʻOku ʻikai ʻapē ko e meʻa lelei taha ia kuó ke fanongo aí!” Pea ko e efiafi kotoa pē naʻá na tūʻulutui ai he veʻe mohenga ʻo ʻEvá ke lotu, naʻe fai ʻe Lose ʻa e ngaahi lotu fakaʻofoʻofa tahá, ʻo fakafetaʻi ki heʻene Tamai Hēvaní ʻi he fanga manupuna (jays) lanu puluú mo e ʻuluʻakaú (spruce), ʻi he tō ʻa e laʻaá mo e fetuʻú, pea mo e “fakaofo ʻo ʻete kei moʻuí.” Naʻe ongo kia ʻEva ʻo hangē naʻe maheni ʻa Lose mo e ʻOtuá, ko hano kaumeʻa.

ʻI he fakalau atu e taimí, ne toki ʻilo ʻe ʻEva ha meʻa taʻeʻamanekina: Mahalo ko Losé ko e tokotaha fiefia taha ia kuo faifaiangé peá ne ʻiloʻi!

Ka naʻe malava fēfē ia?

Ko e hā ʻokú ne fiefia pehē aí?

Kuo teʻeki ai mali, hala mo e fānau, hala ha taha ke na feohi tuku kehe pē ʻa e pusi fakailifiá, pea naʻe faingataʻaʻia heʻene fai ʻa e fanga kiʻi meʻa faingofua hangē ko hono nonoʻo hono suú mo e kaka he sitepú.

Ko e taimi naʻe ʻalu ai ki koló, naʻá ne tui ha ngaahi tatā fakamā, mo lanu maama. Ka naʻe ʻikai kataʻi ia ʻe he kakaí. Naʻa nau ʻākilotoa ia, ʻo fie talanoa mo ia. Naʻe hoko ʻa Lose ko ha faiako, pea naʻe ʻikai ko ha meʻa foʻou ki he fānau ako mei muʻá—ʻa ʻeni kuo nau lalahi mo ʻi ai ʻenau fānaú—ke nau afe mai ʻo talanoa. Naʻa nau fakamālō ange ʻi heʻene hoko ko e ivi tākiekina lelei ʻi heʻenau moʻuí. Naʻa nau faʻa kakata. Pea nau tangi he taimi ʻe niʻihi.

Naʻe fakamoleki ʻe ʻEva, ʻi he fakalau atu ʻa e faʻahitaʻu māfaná, ha taimi lahi ange mo Lose. Naʻá na faʻa ō ʻo ʻeva lōloa, pea naʻe ako ai ʻe ʻEva ʻa e faikehekehe ʻo e sipāloú (sparrows) mo e fanga kiʻi manupuná. Naʻá ne toli ʻa e fuaʻi ʻakau elderberries mo ngaohi siamu ʻaki ʻa e molí. Naʻe ako kau ki heʻene kui fefine hono tolú ʻa ia naʻe hiki mei hono fonua tupuʻá, folau he ʻōsení, pea fononga lalo he toafa mohukú ke fakataha mo e Kāingalotú.

Kuo fakalau vave atu ʻeni ʻa e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo e faʻahitaʻu māfaná. Pea ʻikai hano taimi, kuo talaange ʻe Lose ʻe vavé ni pē ke foki ʻa ʻEva. Neongo naʻe nofo-ʻamanaki ʻa ʻEva ki he momeniti ko iá, talu mei he ʻaho naʻe aʻu atu aí, ka naʻe ʻikai ke ne fuʻu fakapapauʻi pe ʻoku totonu ke ne ongoʻi fēfē. Naʻe ʻosi fakatokangaʻi pē ʻe ʻEva e tāvalivalí kimuʻa, ka naʻe ʻikai ke sio fakalelei ki ai. Naʻe hopohopo atu ha kiʻi taʻahine ʻoku kofu fakapaionia ʻi ha hala lanu pulū.

Ka ʻi he tāvalivalí ni, ʻoku fakafiefia mo fakatupu ʻamanaki lelei e meʻa kotoa. ‘Okú ne lue fiefia pē, pea ʻoku laka atu ki muʻa mo ʻolunga.”

Naʻe fakalongolongo ʻa ʻEva, kae hoko atu ʻa Lose: ʻOku lahi fau e meʻa ʻoku ʻikai hoko lelei ʻi he moʻuí, pea ʻoku lava ke tō ha taha pē ki he ano ʻo e veiveiuá mo e kinohaʻa ʻo e loto mamahí. Ka ʻoku ou ʻiloʻi ha kakai, neongo ʻoku ʻikai ola lelei ai e meʻa ʻoku hokó, ka ʻoku nau kei tokanga pē ki he ngaahi meʻa fakaofó mo e mana ʻo e moʻuí. Ko e kakai fiefia taha ʻeni kuó u ʻiloʻí.”

Naʻe pehēange ʻa ʻEva, “Ka he ʻikai ke ke lava ʻo liliu fakafokifā pē mei he mamahí ki he fiefiá.”

Ne malimali ange ʻa Lose, “ʻIkai, mahalo ʻikai, ka naʻe ʻikai fakataumuʻa e ʻOtuá ke tau mamahi. Naʻá Ne fakatupu kitautolu ke tau fiefia!3 Kapau leva ʻoku tau falala kiate Ia, te Ne tokoni ke tau fakatokangaʻi ʻa e ngaahi meʻa lelei, fakaʻofoʻofa, mo fakaʻamanaki lelei ʻo e moʻuí. Pea ko e moʻoni, ʻe fakaʻau ʻa māmani ʻo lelei ange ʻOku ʻikai hoko noa pē, ka ko hono moʻoní, ko e hā hano lahi ha ngaahi meʻa lelei ʻoku hoko pehē? Hangē kiate au ko e ʻū meʻa lelei tahá, hangē ko e mā ʻoku ngaohi ʻi ʻapí pe siamu molí, ʻoku fie maʻu ki ai ʻa e kātakí mo e ngāué.”

Naʻe kiʻi fakakaukau nounou ki ai ʻa ʻEva peá ne pehē ange, “Mahalo ʻoku ʻikai faingofua fēfē ki he kakai ʻoku ʻikai tokamālie e meʻa kotoa heʻenau moʻuí.”

Pea ʻomi ʻe he tuí mo e ʻamanaki leleí kiate au ʻa e falala ʻe ʻi ai ha ʻaho ʻe mahino ai ʻa e meʻa kotoa pē, he ʻoku makatuʻunga ʻi he Fakamoʻuí, ʻa hono fakatonutonu e meʻa hala kotoa pē. Naʻe huke ʻe Lose ha peesi ʻo ʻene Tohi Tapú pea pehē ange, “ʻOku pehē ʻi heni:

Naʻe fakakaukau ʻa ʻEva naʻe ongo fakaʻofoʻofa moʻoni ia.
