Gifts of the Holy Ghost
In the early days of the restored Church, some of the Saints did not understand about the Holy Ghost. The Savior told Joseph about the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost helps Heavenly Father and the Savior. The Holy Ghost does not have a body of flesh and bones. He is a spirit. (See D&C 130:22.)
The Savior told Joseph that the Holy Ghost helps righteous people. He helps God give them special gifts. Each Saint has a special gift. We should use these gifts to help one another. The Savior told Joseph Smith what the gifts are.
The Holy Ghost gives some Saints the gift of testimony. They know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. They know he died for us. Other Saints are given the gift to believe testimonies about Jesus Christ.
Some Saints are given the gift to be leaders. Others are given the gift of learning things and teaching those things to others.
Some are given the gift of faith to be healed when they are sick. Others are given the gift to heal sick people.
The Holy Ghost gives some Saints the gift to do miracles. Miracles show the power of God.
Other Saints are given the gift to speak languages they do not know.
The Holy Ghost gives some Saints the gift to know what will happen before it happens. This is called the gift of prophecy.
Righteous Saints can have many gifts. They should work to get the gifts they need. All these gifts come from Heavenly Father. We should always thank Him for our blessings.
