What Does Easter Mean for Me?
March 30–April 12 Easter
On Easter, we celebrate “the most important day in history”1—the Resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. This event is central to Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness.
In the premortal life, Jesus Christ was chosen to be our Savior. He promised to provide the way for us to be forgiven of our sins and to return to our heavenly home.
On that first Easter morning, Jesus fulfilled His promise. He overcame death. As a result, “He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death” (Mosiah 16:9).
What blessings does the Resurrection bring to you?
Repentance
Jesus Christ asks each of us, “Will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?” He promises, “Whosoever will come, him will I receive” (3 Nephi 9:13–14). How do you feel when you repent?
Resurrection
Death is inevitable, but the Savior’s victory over death ensures that all will be resurrected—body and spirit joined once more in perfect form (see Alma 11:43). How does knowledge of the Resurrection bring you hope?
Eternal Life
The Savior’s Atonement makes eternal life, or exaltation, possible. To receive this blessing, we must obey the commandments. President Russell M. Nelson has called the way to eternal life “the covenant path.”2 What must we do to follow this path to eternal life?
