New Area Seventies
On the morning of Thursday, April 1, 2021 the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, meeting with some 300 global Church leaders in the April 2021 general conference leadership session, presented the sustaining of 77 new Area Seventies, including three brothers from the Caribbean Area.
The newly called Area Seventies for the Caribbean Area are: Elder Tomás Familia from the Dominican Republic, Elder Julio E. Lee from the Dominican Republic, and Elder Paul H. Jean Baptiste from Haiti.
Here is a brief biography of each of them.
Elder Tomás Familia, 49, hails from La Romana, Dominican Republic. He is a systems engineer and works in his own company, El Palacio del Pelo. He has been a bishop, branch and district president, and stake president. He and his wife, Zeneida, are the parents of five children.
Elder Julio E. Lee, 57, is a resident of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is the Caribbean business manager for UPL Central America. He has been a bishop, a member of a bishopric, a stake presidency counselor, and a stake president. At the time of his call, he was serving as a counselor in the stake presidency of the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Stake. He and his wife, Cindi Marie, are the parents of two children.
Elder Paul H. Jean Baptiste, 44, is a native of Pétion Ville, Haiti. He owns a transportation and commodities company. He has been a bishop and a stake presidency counselor. At the time of his call, he was serving as chair of the audit committee for the Port-au-Prince Haiti North Stake. He and his wife, Wildermina, are the parents of five children.
