Quorum Meetings Are More Than Classes
The Lord has called “in the last days, [those] who should hold the power of priesthood to bring again Zion, and … to put on the authority of the priesthood” (D&C 113:8).
Weekly priesthood quorum meetings help sons of God fulfill this divine mandate. In these meetings, priesthood holders learn their divinely appointed duties. They study, counsel, and pray together. Their discussions focus on who they are and the work they are called to do—to serve in the family, administer priesthood ordinances, and participate in the work of salvation. Following the guidance of the Holy Ghost, they seek the Lord’s will and then organize themselves and go forth to serve. This is not a traditional classroom, with the teacher talking and everyone else listening. This is a vital, working meeting of priesthood holders. They counsel together, seeking the Lord’s help in finding and applying solutions to the most pressing challenges facing quorum and ward members. As they work together in unity and love, the Lord magnifies them and hastens His work.
