Ministering to the Children
“Behold your little ones” (3 Nephi 17:23).
After healing the sick, Jesus invited the people to bring their little children to Him. He then prayed in such a manner that the people could not speak or write His words, and their souls were filled with joy. The Savior “took their little children, one by one, and blessed them” (3 Nephi 17:21). After blessing the children, the Savior wept and declared, “Behold your little ones.” Angels descended from heaven and ministered to the children as they were encircled in fire.
Speaking about the Savior’s invitation to “behold your little ones,” President M. Russell Ballard taught:
Notice that He didn’t say “glance at them” or “casually observe them” or “occasionally take a look in their general direction.” He said to behold them. To me that means that we should embrace them with our eyes and with our hearts; we should see and appreciate them for who they really are: spirit children of our Heavenly Father, with divine attributes (“Great Shall Be the Peace of Thy Children,” Ensign, Apr. 1994).

How can you better “behold” and “minister” to the little ones in your own life?
