Appendix C: Appendix C: EnglishConnect Support’s God’s Work of Salvation and Exaltation Examples

Below are examples of how leaders, teachers, and learners could use EnglishConnect to accomplish God’s work of salvation and exaltation. To learn more, see Purpose.

Example Set 1

Story 1—Maria

Maria learned how to receive God’s help to learn English. Her faith and trust in God have grown, and she seeks His help in other aspects of her life. She now uses the principles of learning to enhance her gospel study.

Story 2—Koffi

Koffi wasn’t active in the Church until a member invited him to an EnglishConnect group. The experiences he had with the other participants helped rekindle his desire to come closer to Christ. He now attends church regularly, serves faithfully in a calling, and ministers to others.

Example Set 2

Story 1—Excellent

Excellent in the Democratic Republic of the Congo completed EnglishConnect 2 and expanded his business to serve international tourists, which doubled his income. Excellent also helps care for others by serving as an EnglishConnect teacher.

Story 2—Zheng Min

Zheng Min improved her English ability through EnglishConnect and enrolled in BYU–Pathway Worldwide. Because she knows English, she was able to find a good paying job while she is studying at BYU–Pathway Worldwide.

Example Set 3

Story 1—Lucas

Lucas invited his friends on social media to join an EnglishConnect group with him. Maria sees his post and decided to go with him. Maria was inspired by the faith and fellowship she felt and decided to learn more about the Church from the missionaries. She decided to be baptized and is now serving as a teacher for EnglishConnect 1.
